LOIMOS (from the Ancient Greek λοιμός, meaning plague, pestilence, or any deadly infectious disorder) is a membrane computing simulator of COVID-19 pandemic scenarios where different interventions limiting SARS-CoV-2 transmission can be simulated and their impact on COVID-19 pandemics predicted.

The menu of LOIMOS permits the user to create the P-system starting configuration required by Loimos to run a simulation. The P-system starting configuration must be designed interface-by-interface

ECO)The basal membrane or ecosystem(ECO)that contains all the elements and features configures in case study model
LIVING SPACES) The distinct environments (hospital facilities, homes, leisure areas, etc) where the population dynamics of the case study model, takes place
POPULATION) The population of citizens to simulate considering four basal age ranges (children, adolescents, adults, elderlies) and additional features
VIRAL VARIANTS) The distinct viral variants to consider and their phenotypes
INTERVENTIONS) The distinct preventive or protective actions, decisions and/or measures to take in order to limit the spread of SARS-CoV2.

Once the P-system starting configuration has been created you can store it in your user account of LOIMOS for further editing and modification with changing rules and or you generate it as a XML file which is the input format accepted by LOIMOS. When the simulation is done you can download the outputs or modify the P-system starting configuration of your case study and return the simulation. Finally, it is worth to remind that P-system is an alphabet of membranes and objects governed by a set of rules but if you are not familiar with the methodology please reads the papers referred in the footer and/or contact us for support.
